Nancy Grayson Elementary Hosts “Ready. Set. Go!”
Shippensburg, PA-- The third annual, “Ready. Set. Go!” was held Tuesday, April 14 at the Nancy Grayson Elementary School. The kindergarten readiness program, made possible by the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation of Shippensburg was facilitated by local elementary school teachers and members of Shippensburg University Delta Kappa Pi led by Dr. Cheryl Slattery.
According to co-coordinators, Judy Klebe and Kristi Pabcun, attendance included 63 college volunteers and 79 adults and children who participated.
After a complimentary dinner was served, parents attended informative workshops related to their child’s kindergarten day while children participated in various learning stations designed to promote literacy skills with games and activities.
Ready Set Go is held twice a year for parents and children from ages 2 to 6 and is open to Shippensburg and Chambersburg Area School Districts.
Supporters of the Drew Michael Foundation are invited to join on May 1 at the Harrisburg Senators v. Reading Phillies game at Commerce Park in Harrisburg on City Island. As the Community Organization of the game, there will be a pregame on-field interview, air time on the Senator’s radio broadcast, and an informational table in the concourse area.
